We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our growing kitchen team.
The Role
As a Chef at Makimoto, you will play an important role in maintaining our food quality, kitchen efficiency and high standards of service.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare, cook and present high-quality Japanese dishes in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.

Maintain excellent food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards.

Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and minimise food waste.

Ensure consistency in recipes, portion sizes and presentation.

Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house team members to deliver smooth and efficient service.

Competitive Salary: Starting from $75,000+ per annum, negotiable depending on experience and skills.

Key Requirements

Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen.

Experience in Japanese cuisine or Asian fusion is highly regarded.

A strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.

The ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.

Good teamwork, communication and organisational skills.
